What causes thrust bearings failure?

Thrust bearings are a special type of rotating bearings. Like other rotating bearings, they allow rotation between parts, but they are designed to support high axial loads (parallel to the shaft) while supporting them. Different types of thrust ball bearings are used to support different amounts of axial loads. Thrust ball bearings are used in applications where the axial load is small, where a ring supports the ball bearings. Spherical roller thrust bearings are used in applications requiring high axial loads and can also support unaligned shafts.
